Dress Circle Promenade - Exhibition Space
The Kings Theatre offers a very unique exhibition space for displaying artwork from a variety of artists from around the city.
The artists displayed range from individual professional artists to schools and colleges and are displayed along the Dress Circle Promenade.
The Promenade is spacious with beautiful red walls and Edwardian ornate plasterwork designs on the ceiling, the Kings Theatre is known for its historical features and sophisticated interior, making this an exciting exhibition space.
Accompanying performance with exhibitions makes for an interesting and stimulating experience and the Kings hopes this will bring both new audiences to the theatre but also a new audience to art within the city.
The Kings Theatre has free open viewings on Thursdays and Saturdays from 10.30am - 2pm, and the exhibitions are also available to those who are enjoying performances, workshops or other events at the theatre.
Forthcoming exhibitions in 2012 include Simon Whitcomb - 'Spirit of Theatre', Habib S. Rahman - 'Enlightenment', Park Community School - 'Inspired by Dickens' and The University of Portsmouth - 'Interpreting Die Fledermaus'.

As part of the long term Kings Theatre restoration programme over £2 million has been spent on refurbishment of the theatre using both professional and volunteer workers.
Currently the Kings Theatre Trust are looking to raise funds for a restoration of the currently dilapidated Tower room, in order to create a community art studio and exhibition space.
