SPINNAKER TOWER.
Towering over the city of Portsmouth and the surrounding area is the staggeringly tall Spinnaker Tower, which was built relatively recently. It offers visitors an unrivalled aerial view of the city and the surrounding areas from its three viewing platforms.

D-DAY MUSEUM &OVERLORD EMBROIDERY.
This museum is dedicated to the achievements of Allied forces in the D-Day invasion of Germany in 1944. The centrepiece here is the magnificent 'Overlord Embroidery', a massive 34 panel embroidery that visually represents the story of the invasion.
Here you can find many examples of military equipment from the time, including an original landing craft, and watch archive film from Britain in 1944.

HARBOUR TOURS.
One of the best ways to see the harbour at Portsmouth is from the water, on a harbour cruise from Solent Cruises. This way, you can get a good look at the Naval ships, and find out a great deal about the history of the city and its harbour.

ASPEX.
Portsmouth's leading contemporary art gallery is a Mecca for aficionados of modern art. Here, you can see a wide variety of exhibitions, workshops, and events showcasing some of the most innovative local and global artists.
Admission is free, and it is open from Tuesday to Sunday every week.
BLUE REEF AQUARIUM.
At Blue Reef Aquarium, you can see a wide variety of marine wildlife, from local species to rare tropical fish. The massive ocean display, complete with underwater tunnel, is an astonishing sight to behold, with hundreds of weird and wonderful marine animals.
It is open every day, and group discounts are available to groups of ten or more.
CITY MUSEUM & RECORDS OFFICE
This interesting museum contains a variety of exhibitions related to topics such as the history of Portsmouth, Sherlock Holmes creator Arthur Conan Doyle, sea side holidays, and the history of recreation in the area.
There are also period room displays from the 1600s to the 1950s and an art gallery with changing exhibitions.
